We patterned Valentine erasers bought at the Dollar Store
We spent all morning cutting up scrap construction paper into small pieces to make out heart mosaics. They turned out really nice.
We practices pouring using red hots. Of course the best part was eating one afterwards!
We brainstormed about what loves means to us and then we made a predictable chart of responses.
We made a flip book of who we love. Under each flap the child has drawn a picxture of who they love. I took dictation on why they love that person.
Science project- placed a white daisy in red food coloring.
We sorted conversation hearts by color and then used the work sheet to record the data. And of course we got to eat one when finished!
We made some bird feeders for our hungry winter birds.
Children count the number of beads on each heart and then put them in numeric order.
We estimated how many red hots I could hold in my hand.
We estimated how many conversational hearts would fit inside our drawn heart. Then we counted them to find the actual number.
Decorating our Valentine bags getting ready for our party on Thurs.!
We used heart doilies, stickers, foam stickers, stamps, crayons and our imaginations.
This is part of our quilt for this month- ABB patern
We made "love bug" valentine cards for our parents
Windsocks
During our class Valentine party we made the love bug cards, decorated cookies or pop tarts (their choice) with icing and sprinkles, played some Valentine games, and had a heart painted on our face or arm.
This was my Valentine's gift to the children and their parents. Use a conversational heart box with cellophane on front. Cut child's photo to fit and tape inside. Tape top closed. Attach a magnetic strip to the back.
