Mrs. Drake's Classroom

November and Thanksgiving

LITERACY

We used our pocket chart to read our favorite Nov. poem. I had the children place the colored leaf over the color word.

Felt board pieces to retell the story of the first Thanksgiving.

Our class turkey quilt

We tasted then graphed our favorite flavor of popcorn

A bulletin board I drew. In the bubbles are what the children are thankful for.

I printed one of our favorite November songs on manuscript paper and then the children help me find and circle all the letter T's and we double underlined all the N's

My Colorful Turkey book - each feather that sticks out on right is it's own page. Our first attempt at "reading" color words.

We used turkey stickers to make an ABC pattern.

We used grocery store flyers and cut our favorite foods and then glued them on a paper plate.

This is a TLC project. We had Friendship Salad at our feast so our place mats are a fruit bowl.

Our feast. We served friendship salad (every child brought in something to add to the salad), cornbread and corn on the cob with our homemade butter. Our desert was individual pumpkin pies.

And of course we ended our feast by graphing our favorite food.
