Rootin' Tootin' Cowpokes. We cut out a cowboy hat and boots then glued them on the top and bottom of the paper and drew our cowgirl or boy in between. They all turned out very unique. I took dictation about their cowboy and horse.

Our Texas bulletin board.
|

Our bluebonnets were made using the old sponge kitchen sponges (the kind on a plastic stick) and 3 paint colors, dark blue, light blue and white. Gently dip the sponges in each color then blot around pre drawn stem and leaves. The 3 colors and the sponges give the painting a beautiful unique color and texture. |

Our pecan tree leaves were made with 2 colors of tissue paper glued on a leaf shape and a pecan half glued in the center.

We tossed cards into a hat. First the children recognized, labeled, and named numbers and letters and then tossed that card into a hat. |

Mastered the ABB pattern. |

We did a self portrait on a WANTED poster. Of course all my students are wanted because they are special. Each child dictated something about themselves that they like. |

RODEO DAY!!!!

We all wore our best western wear (I am in my rodeo clown outfit), made our snack of trail mix, had hotdog's and smores for lunch, and played lots of rodeo games. It was a fun day! Click here to see more Rodeo Day photos.

Sitting around the "campfire" enjoying our trail mix. |

We first learned that bull riders must stay on the broncin' bull for 8 seconds. Then we rode a hoppity hop for those 8 seconds with one hand just like the real bull riders. |

We roped a bull. |

Rode Liberty
the horse. |

We learned how to make a lasso. |

Rode a hoppity hop ball pretending it was a horse in the barrel races.
